Karabük University Students' Documentary Receives Award from the "International Disaster Film Festival"
The documentary "Day Always Night," produced by students of Karabük University, was awarded the "Commendable Documentary Film" prize at the 2nd International Disaster Film Festival (UAFF).
 
Students from Karabük University (KBÜ) achieved a significant success at the international film festival, organized by the ANDA Education Research Aid and Search and Rescue Association with the support of the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and held in Ankara between December 18-21, 2025.
 
The documentary, prepared by Safranbolu Türker İnanoğlu Faculty of Communication students Melisa Yıldız, Sümeyye Erdoğan, Yağmur Kaya, Senanur Gündüz, Berat Aktoğ, and Kenan Kuliev, under the supervision of Dr. Musa Ak, was awarded the "Commendable Documentary Film" prize in a selection featuring professional productions. The documentary focuses on the difficult living conditions of mine workers in Zonguldak.
 
The award ceremony for the festival, which received numerous applications from 114 countries, was held on the evening of December 21st at the General Directorate of Forestry Conference Hall. As part of the festival, film screenings were held at the Ankara Kült Kavaklıdere Cultural Center, while talks and workshops took place at the Ankara City Council building.
